Stanley Park Centenary Celebrations & Drone Show, Blackpool  3rd October 2026

One of Blackpool’s most beloved green spaces turns 100 this year, and Stanley Park is marking the milestone in spectacular style. The Grade II-listed park, which first opened its gates in 1926, is hosting a full programme of family events throughout 2026 to celebrate its centenary, with the highlight arriving on the weekend of 2 and 3 October.

Friday 2 October is the official anniversary day, and the celebrations continue into Saturday with a vibrant festival atmosphere spread across the park’s 390 acres. Families can browse an artisan market, enjoy fairground rides, take part in activity sessions, and watch live entertainment suitable for all ages.

Then, as night falls on Saturday evening, the skies above Stanley Park will come alive with a breathtaking drone light show created by Celestial, the team behind the acclaimed drone display filmed at Stanley Park for Britain’s Got Talent in 2025. It promises to be an unforgettable way to honour a park that has been at the heart of Blackpool life for a century.

Year-round highlights include family activity sessions, heritage walks, a special edition of Love Parks Week, sporting events, and the much-loved Bandstand performances. A dedicated event for local schoolchildren is also in the pipeline.
