Summer Family Fun Festival at The Lightbox

The Summer Family Fun Festival at The Lightbox in Woking has a full line up of great activities to keep the kids busy
Tues 1 – Sun 6 August 2023
The popular Summer Family Fun Festival returns with a week of creative activities to spark imaginations during the summer holidays including National Play Day. The Café will be serving family-friendly options for appetites of all sizes with ice creams to keep cool on hotter days. Many events are free drop-in sessions; please check individual events for details. Free events will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
Garden Games
Tues 1 – Sat 5 Aug, drop-in 10.30am – 4.30pm and Sun 6 Aug 11am – 3.30pm
Fun and free giant Garden Games will be set up in our courtyard for families to enjoy throughout the Summer Family Festival. Please note children must be supervised by their adults at all times.

Summer Trail
Throughout the summer holidays during opening hours
Take part in a free creative Summer Trail around The Lightbox and solve the clues around the building. Once completed claim your sweet treat prize from Reception.

Flipbook Animations
5 – 10 year olds
Tues 1 August, 1.30pm – 3.00pm
Get creative and make a mythical creature moving animation by creating your own flipbook.
£9.50 per child | Accompanying adult goes free
NATIONAL PLAYDAY
Wed 2 Aug, 11.00am – 11.40am
Inspire imaginations and improve literacy in our Mini Gallery Explorer sessions where you discover the artwork and history on display with interactive stories, rhymes and creative crafts with our team. This session is a one off special and will be based in our Sophie Ryder All of Us exhibition so that you can explore the animals and myths on display. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis at Reception from 10.30am on the day. For under 8 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Wed 2 Aug, Drop-in anytime from 1.30pm – 4.00pm
Make your own mini Minotaurs in this family drop-in session using corks and recycled materials.

11 – 16 year olds
Thurs 3 August, 1.30pm – 3.00pm
Make a mini theatre to stage your own play with characters, props and scenery you have created.
Fri 4 Aug, Drop-in anytime from 1.30pm – 4.00pm
Join our summertime favourite bubble-making workshop and create your own bubble makers in our courtyard. An alternative workshop will take place in the Education Studio in the event of inclement weather.

Have your face transformed for free by our expert face painter. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis and we advise arriving early to avoid disappointment. Children must be aged 3+ to have their face painted.
