Rare Breeds Animal Farm
From rare breeds and buzzy bees to livestock and horses, the Royal Norfolk Show typically has over 3,000 animals on show over the two-days.
One of the more recent additions to the show over the years has been the Rare Breeds Animal Farm. This popular area of the show, particularly for families and animal lovers, allows showgoers to learn about some of the country’s rarest breeds including cattle, sheep, pigs and goats, as well as a host of rare breed turkeys and ducks. Many of the breeds featured at the show are on the watchlist of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust – the UK’s leading rare breeds conservation charity. Pop-in to our show farm and see more than 30 different breeds of livestock, including cattle, sheep, pigs and goats, as well as his rare breed turkeys and fascinating ducks.
Kids Interactive Zone
The focus of the Discovery Zone is to link STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) with food, farming and the countryside in a hands-on and interactive way.
The Discovery Zone is our hub of interactive learning and entertainment for young people and families. This year, our core theme is the potato, a key Norfolk crop and staple food. We have a range of exciting activities on offer, with the main event being our Potato Trail, in which you can see how potatoes are grown, harvested and processed. Find out what a potato field looks like in each season, discover the scale of potato farming by seeing a harvester up close and finish off by creating your own chips!
