Welford Park near Newbury will be opening the gates again this autumn for a magical after-dark experience for all the family from 18th October to 10th November 2024

​Spectacle of Light offers you the chance to view the much loved paths of Welford Park from a different perspective and discover new sights along the way.

Enjoy this beautiful, illuminated trail through the majestic woodland and around the gardens all lit under the stars.​

Sip delicious hot chocolate and spiced cider as you meander along this beautiful trail. Take a moment by the house to tuck into scrumptious hot food.

Welford Park Spectacle of Light 2023 Review

The light trail at Welford Park is spectacular right from the moment you walk up the impressive tree lined driveway.

The Spectacle light trail then takes through through the woodlands with lots of variety as you amble along.

Crossing over a little bridge, if you’ve been to the see the amazing Welford snowdrops , you see the woods in a whole new light.  Moving lights dance across the trees accompanied by classical music and it’s a tranquil spot to stop.

A light tunnel guides you and into the Welford gardens, a popular photo opportunity spot.

Circling the wide laws, the a wonderful variety of illuminations from small orange globes that seem to dance as the lights switch on and off, grand chandelier and one of my favourites was the multi coloured cones.

The illuminated trail takes you right up to Welford Park house.  A grand family home for over 400 years, Welford Park is steeped in history and looks absolutely stunning all lit up with a carpet of light to the front.

Tucked to the side are food and refreshment options and it’s a perfect spot to sit and just take it all in.  We were tempted in by a huge Biscoff Brownie with ice cream!

The Spectacle of Light then continues into the gardens with a wonderful display of coloured, glowing umbrellas with the majectic trees above highlighted in multi colours.
