If you’re looking for some adventure thrills for kids (and adults too!), check out Go Ape Bracknell at The Look Out. It’s a really exciting activity for all ages and makes a great birthday treat activity or a special family day out. There are different courses aimed at different ages. We tried the Tree Top Junior activity aimed at junior Tarzans aged 6-12 years old.
What is Go Ape?
Go Ape is an adventure obstacle course up high in the trees. You book an hour session and can go round the course as many times as you like in this time. You are first given a safety briefing and are fitted into a body harness with a special clip. There is a metal cable track running around the course and once you are clipped onto the wire track, you can’t unclip until the end of the course so you are completely safe even if you were to fall. The Tree Top Junior course was set high up in the trees and had wobbly bridges, logs to walk along, rope tunnels and and finished with an exciting aerial zip wire down to the ground.
Go Ape Bracknell Options
Go Ape Bracknell offers several different options:
The Tree Top Junior Course is aimed at ages 6-12 although any children over 1 metre tall are allowed to go on as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Adults can also go on this course. As the accompanying adult, I expected to find it fairly ‘tame’ but actually found it really exciting and surprisingly challenging! My 5 year old and 7 year old both really loved it.
The Tree Top Adventure Course is aimed at age 10+ and has a minimum height requirement of 1.4m. It includes ladders, spider’s webs and wobbly crossings.
There is also the option to do a Segway tour through the forest (minimum 7 stone/ 10+ years)
It is recommended to book in advance as there are a set number of slots available at 15 minute start time intervals. Check out the Go Ape website for online booking.
