Hogmoor Inclosure – Wow – what can I say. Hands down we have found the best free playground for the children to explore. It’s the perfect location for meeting up with friends, having a picnic and spending the day outdoors, nature walks, and most importantly getting outside to burn off energy and get some much needed fresh air.
Homoor Inclosure in a natural open space within Prince Philip Park in Hampshire and this is where you’ll find the impressive playground. When a place can tick off free parking, playground, cafe, woods, toilets and plenty of open space to run around freely (and safely) we know we’re on to a winner – and this is exactly what you will find at Hogmoor Inclosure in Bordon.
Hogmoor Inclosure is the third-largest nature reserve of its kind, with over 54 hectares of strategic woodland and heathland. I personally love the whole feel of the heath and forest areas as you can often feel as though you aren’t in the UK at all. Isabella and I went on a cool morning, and it was lovely to see the sun shining through the trees, we could hear birds singing in the trees, and we enjoyed strolling through the heath and spotting wildlife.
The play area has been beautifully made and fits in well with the surroundings. With slides, a zip line, fort, wildlife pond, sand station, swings and more, there is something for almost every age group. Children and adults alike will have so much fun here (we could have easily spent the whole day here exploring).
As soon as you walk into the Inclosure your first impressions will be wow. The sheer size of the playground is insane, so much open space that you don’t know where to start. As you explore the area you will be taken aback by just how much there is to do.
Isabella headed straight to the massive climbing structures and slide. Little Miss Independent was straight there climbing up to the top, and whizzing down the slide. She spent ages zooming along the zip line (and yes did manage to fall off into the mud at one point).
There was an impressive sand area with pulley system – although was a tad frosty when we went, it did look like a lot of fun.
For the smaller children there was another area which would be perfect for them. There was a low level climbing frame with slide, wooden wendy houses to play inside, spinny seat and a very usual tyre swing.
Located just by the free car park there are toilets and changing facilities. Plus this is where the cafe is, so perfect location to grab some delicious lunch or a nice warm drink. The cakes looked absolutely delicious too.
There was so much to do here that you can definitely make a whole day of it, and with free parking, cafe on site, or take your own picnic, it really is the perfect free day out.
