Mums night out at Tenpin Bowling Alley in Crewe
After the 6 weeks of summer holiday days out for the children, I thought the mums deserved a trip out for themselves. So I organised a trip to our local Tenpin Bowling alley in Crewe with some of my school mum friends.
Now you all know how hard it is fitting in time for yourselves. This took a week of back and forth messages to find an evening we could all do around work and clubs. But we did it, and I and 4 other mums set off on a wednesday evening for a game of bowling.
We arrived for our game at 7pm. Walking in, we were greeted by a very colourful, buzzing & trendy venue. With arcades to your left flashing their lights, to the right a long bar offering cocktails and pitchers with comfy, leather booths to eat and socialise till late.
We headed to our lane. Keeping our own shoes on!! Although I secretly missed the swapping of your own trainers for smelly, clumpy bowling shoes.
At Crewe, it’s a completely new styling for the lanes compared to the old school design of every other bowling alley I’ve been to. You have your own little section with high screens on either side, so your little group is more disconected from other teams playing. Along one side is a bench to sit at.
Along the other side, you have a long bar type table to sit your drinks, phones & handbangs on. It’s all very high tech. A touch screen computer allows you to set up your game with names and fun selfies of your team. There is a large screen next to the computer that displays the scoreboard.
It was a great social activity for us 5 ladies. It’s very different to our usual of just going out for dinner. We didn’t use the seats as it was a bit tight passing each other. So we were all stood next the ball machine, chatting while we took our turns. We got a little bit competitive but also had a giggle when someone threw a total gutter ball.
After our game, we headed to the comfy booths to finish our drinks & we ordered some loaded nachoes to share.
The diner style menu available is perfect to enjoy after your chosen activity. From burgers and hotdogs to loaded nachoes and pizza.
The prices of the food are quite reasonable and they do some fab weekday deals such as 2 games of bowling and a burger meal from £10 per person.”
Their Eat & Play deal makes it a fantastic option for an after school treat with the kids too. A game of bowling and their tea from only £8.10 (sept 23) Check what Tenpin deals are on
Its not just bowling that Tenpin Crewe has to offer. Along with the 25 high tech bowling lanes there is also a laser tag arena, two escape rooms, soft play area and a large arcade space with pool tables.
