Just before Christmas I had my dad visit for the day and he tasked me with finding somewhere nice to go for lunch near Aylesbury.
We’re very lucky that there are a number of lovely spots in and around Aylesbury, but on this occasion with decided to go to The Bugle Horn in Hartwell, Aylesbury.
We love a country pub, with yummy food and a decent selection of beer and this did not disappoint!
We visited at lunchtime and the Bugle Horn had a fabulous set lunch menu (£17.50 for two course and £21.50) Dec 2024 for three courses.
The selection of food on the set menus was great, it ranged from Mac and cheese, to a curry, to the Duck and hoisin pizza which I couldn’t resist trying and oh my goodness – so yummy!! For a set menu the portions were really generous and we were all full up by the end!
The pub itself is a beautiful little country pub, it’s quirky, with a couple of areas to eat and we sat comfortably with a nice view of the garden. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly and on hand with recommendations if you can’t choose between two dishes!
The Bugle Horn has a lovely garden and we can’t wait to pop along in the warmer months to sit outside. And I’ve heard wonderful things about the Sunday Menu so we’ll be along soon to try that out.
We took Matilda with us and they were very accommodating to the buggy and highchair, Matilda also banged her head whilst we were there and the staff and other customers were so kind and sweet to her. So it’s a super family friendly place too!
Located on the way to Stone, just a couple of minutes outside of Aylesbury, The Bugle Horn is a lovely spot to pop for lunch or just a quiet drink. And there is plenty of parking!
