Have we just found the best place to stay for families and it’s only 300 metres to the beach!
Just two hours and thirty minutes from central Manchester, we discovered The Hollies Apartment. It is available on Airbnb, but we booked directly and managed to get a small discount.
The apartment has three bedrooms and is honestly bigger than most houses! It spans two floors so there was plenty of space for all. Downstairs there is a huge living room with three large sofas and floor-to-ceiling folding doors that open onto a small ground-floor balcony, perfect for a morning coffee.
The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped with everything you would expect and more, along with a large dining table big enough for the whole family. I have to admit we didn’t cook much, preferring to walk to the beach bar or local art gallery cafe for a bite to eat or venture into Abersoch.
At the rear there is a small enclosed courtyard with a barbecue and seating, while at the front there is a larger grassy area with a table and chairs. Our girls loved the village green which was opposite, a perfect area for board games.
Upstairs there were three bedrooms, a master with an ensuite, a second bedroom that can be set up as either a king or a twin, and a large family room with a double bed and a bunk bed that has a double on the bottom and a single on top. Alongside a family bathroom with a much needed bath- we struggle to be without one with little ones who are currently shower refusers.
Because there was so much space, we brought the grandparents along. This not only helped split the cost but was also great for childcare. My ultimate top parenting tip.
We had such a lovely time as a family. The apartment is just 300 yards from Llanbedrog beach and Aqua Beach Bar, and only five minutes drive into Abersoch so we found the location perfect. After a holiday abroad earlier in the year, we felt like we needed a UK break to recharge, and this definitely ticked every box.
